Hey guys! I'm here to update you guys on the status of the osIROSE rewrite.
Currently we are making a lot of progress.
The servers support Linux and Windows. We are currently using CMake as the build system because it allows us to build for a wide range of systems without having to update a bunch of project files. Also I have setup CI systems that builds the source after every check-in.
Here's what I estimate the completion rate:
Core Systems: In-Progress
Login Server: Done
Char Server: In-Progress (~70% complete)
Map Server (aka World Server): in-Progress
Awesome extra features: waiting
You can find the latest version of the project here:

I really hope we can get this forum alive again.
Update (4/25/2017)
I haven't updated this post in a while. Sorry about that! I've been busy with RL stuff like buying a house. Buying a house is very stressful, let me tell you!
Anyway, there should be a new release soon with the updated server networking code and character handling logic. You will be able to create parties now !!! The item conversion project is currently underway to convert all of the current items that are stored in STBs to a SQL/lua format.
LUA is going to be used to script extra events for things that happen. So for example if you equip an item, the server will execute a lua function and you could check to see if other items are equipped and if so give extra stats (think item set bonus, extra stats only given if all pieces of the set are equipped).
Update (9/26/2016):
I removed the completion percentage as it was just a number on how complete the server I felt. We were inactive for a few months for vacation and other RL related things but we are now BACK!!! As of now we can move around on the map, chat and see other players on the map. Expect to see a new pre-release tag pop up in the coming weeks.
Update (5/2/2016):
I changed the completion percentage. Also the other day I created a gitter chat room for osirose. https://gitter.im/RavenX8/osIROSE-new
An update (2/23/2016):
I am currently in the process of adding plans to the issue tracker on github. If anyone would like to help out on this project, please feel free to fork the repo, submit pull request, comment on stuff in the issue tracker, add requests to the issue tracker, and submit bug reports in the issue tracker.
