Hi there Luke!

First, let me help you by letting me to say this to you - Slow Down a bit in this ROSE ambition of yours as you will be bound to encounter a lot of problems that might make you bang your head on your keyboard.

Help yourself by giving it time to know things little by little, and learn solidly along the way. This is a forum where anyone could opt to help you but please give everyone here who have dealt a lot of trouble and spent time and resources for their love of ROSE the respect they deserve. Just let me clear it to you that they are not your own ROSE troubleshooter.

I don't want to be rude as I myself is also still a budding ROSE Enthusiast on my own and I found this site very helpful indeed for those who like me also wants to have my own running ROSE Server, what ever our own reason for trying to have one.

Please, please and another please - let everyone see that you are doing your homework by searching in here topics and posts that could help you on your quest. Most of the basic are there lurking along the threads. Though sometimes you would end up frustrated, but it is part of the learning process. If you are really serious about knowing and learning how to have your own ROSE Server, then you will see it worthy looking for every bit of information on this forum.

Again, try to learn the very basic of all the technology that you will need. Not everything will be given to you in a silver platter here.

Please try harder to know more and get back to the folks here for those really head wrecking problems that I believe they would gladly assist you if they find it equally worth helping for.

I hope this will give you an insight and will guide you along the way as you continue your ROSE Adventure.

Good Luck!
Doing the right thing is the right thing to do!

OK I will start with this one.

Every instance you see of 127.0.0.1 is your servers making connections with each other. It's NOT players logging in.
The only place where a user actually connects from an external IP address is when they first connect to the login server. After that the servers talk to each other and pass information on. When they talk to each other they have to use 127.0.0.1 because they are on the same PC

Next let's look at your conf files.
For a start, it's a really bad idea to set your lansubmask to the same as your IP address.
You should really set your mask to something like 255.255.255.0
It's particularly bad when you also plug in your WAN IP (195.238.168.13) into your LAN IP setting.
It's going to make it completely impossible to port forward anything through your router.
You do have a router right?
Your LAN IP is almost always 192.168.0.xxx so for a valid lansubmask you could use 192.168.0.0 or 255.255.255.0
The LAN IP is the address within your router's internal network. It is the address to which you need to forward ports 29000 through 29200.

Your WAN IP is the address which your router/modem uses to connect to the world wide web. You should set that value into the field named "serverip"

For more information about subnet masks check out this wiki article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address#IPv4%5Fprivate%5Faddresses

a typical worldserver.conf file should look like this
  1. [DATABASE]
  2. mysql_host=localhost
  3. mysql_user=root
  4. mysql_pass=password
  5. mysql_database=osrose
  6. mysql_port=3306
  7. AutoQueryTime=600
  8.
  9. [SERVERDATA]
  10. serverid=1
  11. servertype=2
  12. serverip=128.206.100.126
  13. serverport=29200
  14. servername=Channel1
  15. maxconnections=500
  16. parentid=1
  17. connection=2
  18. lanip=IP
  19. lansubmask=IP
  20.
  21. [WORLDSERVER]
  22. accesslevel=100
  23. welcome_msg=Welcome to Open Source Rose Online EVO
  24.
  25. [PASSWORDS]
  26. loginpass=789456
  27. charpass=456123
  28. worldpass=321654

NOTE: I have nothing in lanip or lansubmask
They aren't necessary to make a server. In fact most of our servers don't even bother to read in those values. The few versions that do read them are extremely fussy and the values that you put in your files would almost certainly break everything.

have you tried editing the ip in the launcher?
i assume you are using the batch file?
Just edit the thing in a text editor. Put in the IP that you want and then save it.

And for a website you have to change a load of settings in your apache configuration files.
Unless you get really lucky and your ISP doesn't block port 80.
Assuming they don't block it then just forward port 80 to the lan ip address of the computer that hosts the website.

That would be because your server wants to load a column in your database that doesn't exist.
