mm your server will suffer under the load if many people are using in. And if a server is offline, a socket request takes even longer to load, so slower.

Anyway, nice script.

Actually I tested it with an offline server, and it looks like his timeout is set to somewhere around 1 second, so offline servers don't take too long to load. Nice script :) Any way you could release the source to other users for their own site? :)

You can't go lower than 1 second.

Is your server behind a router (firewall) or on a dedicated system?

hmm, i don't believe so, because i made my own script using "fsockopen", and it works like a champ, so i don't know what the problem could be.

it's ok though, since i have my own script now, i'll be using it. i needed to learn how to do it anyway, i suppose, lol.
