v335 new triggerVFS & data.idx

Postby Dagnarus on Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:37 am

Oke nice work you guys!
But one thing:
Have you guys looked at the triggerVFS.dll and data.idx in v335?
It is different then the normal ones. You can open the filesystem with the editors, but you can't write in it. When you do this the data.idx will get broken and you will get the File Open Error.
My question is: How would you patch your server when you can't add an item into the filesystem?
Is there someone who has succeed doing this? Cause I've trying to fix this for like 3 days and it still doesn't work.

P.S. What I found was that the new one sends his info to a specific address but in the old one this address is different. So that should cause the error, but still don't know how to fix this...

P.S.2 Could someone delete this post from observes topic. Thanks

Could you upload data.idx and triggervfs.dll for me?

The format seems fine and TriggerVFS hasn't been changed in years. Can you upload TRose.exe and paste the exact error message the client gives after adding files.

hmm strange. Cause when I use an older triggerVFS.dll it gives me following error:
  1. Error
  2. Check Fail TriggerVFS.Dll : 1705537950

And when I use their TriggerVFS.Dll after adding a file to the data.idx (using VFSnextGen, or neoncube) it gives the following error:
  1. ERROR
  2. Some strange characters

after clicking OK
  1. ERROR
  2. File [3DDATA\TERRAIN\O_Range.TBL] open error

which means that the client can't read the data.idx. Which tells us that the format of data.idx has changed.

P.S. I also uploaded the old TriggerVFS.dll I'm using that gives me the first error.

The first error is because the checksum of TriggerVFS.dll isn't matching the value it's expecting, that can be bypassed easily but I'd go against doing that as it'll be better to fix the actual data.idx problem.

I'll download the naRose client after work tomorrow and see what I can do.

I might have found the problem. And if I'm right it's my own stupid mistake which took me 3 days to figure out. I've accidentally used a iRose triggerVFS.dll. So that's why it fails. But need to check it first. I'll post later if this is the problem.
