STB / STL Editor from PurpleYouko

Postby lmame on Fri Mar 28, 2008 12:57 pm

Software:
STB / STL editor in Excel file.

Version:
2009/02/04:
-> 3.4 contains a beta version of new STL loading and saving code. This one currently loads and saves all the language blocks. It only displays the English version though as the others are simply stored in strings of bytes in hidden rows in the STL sheet.
That, of course, makes it a lot slower than previous versions. You could, if you like, un-hide the hidden rows and delete their contents to make the STL files load and save quicker.
Anyway as I said, it's a beta version but has been pretty thoroughly tested by saving a copy of an STL and comparing the saved and original versions in a hex editor. With one tiny exception (secondary and tertiary text strings that I didn't really care about) it saves the quest STL perfectly and the output also works in the game.
It is NOT however, fully tested on normal STL files so if you plan to edit those with this editor, please make backups first.

2008/07/11:
-> 3.2 is a version with header and handling too ospRose,

2008/03/29:
-> 2.00 is "stable version"
-> 3.1 is "dev version"

2008/03/26:
-> first version uploaded,

requirements:
Excel.

It was written in office 2003 so that isn't the issue.
It also runs in 2007.

You should be able to run with security set to medium. it will prompt you to allow or disallow the macros.

Try downloading it again. It may be corrupted.

here are some mirrors

This has to be one of the most easy tools to use.

I have been using it for awhile now, it has gone through alot of different versions/updates and gets better each time he comes out with a new one.

Thanks for the work on this Purple.

awsome 3.1 yoku, i was going to ask you for a irose conversion =p But recently, i keep geting an object not found error. On the 2.0 it came up w/ the debug.. so far only clicking on a button produces this error on 3.1 and no debug. Untill i try to load a stb/stl then debug pops up.. compile error method or data member not found. and only line 5 is highlighted. did i forget to install something needed when i reformated?

could you post a screen shot of the debug window with the error text highlighted?
It might help to figure out why you have an error.

Typically an object not found error refers to a missing .ocx.
The only one I use in 3.1 that may need to be registered manually is comdlg32.ocx
I already posted a link to a site that explains how to register this a couple of times before.
Just google it and it will be at the top of your list. ;)

Here is what it shows after i hit load stb/stl http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8974/problem2wm4.jpg. Then i hit ok and then this shows http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/223/problem3uo9.jpg I have ran it w/ that .ocx, and it should be registered, casue i got it for the stl editor that i usta use before i got your first one.

All the errors you have there show that you do not have the microsoft common dialog ocx file installed on your machine.

Here is something you could try.
from the debug window select Userform1 from the VBA project window at the top left.
this will open the code window for the user form. Now click view/object from the toolbar and it will show you the form in design view.

Click on the form and a small toolbox will appear.
Right click on the background of this toolbox and select "add component" (or words to that effect depending on your excel version) from the popup window.
This will open a huge list of components with checkboxes for each one.
scroll down the list til you find "microsoft common dialog 6.0"
check the check box and click ok.
This should install the component into your excel installation.

Now try running it again.
