The gui has been changed to simplify user interface really, cos the double tabs were somewhat confusing at times. Also keep in mind that if you add a new file you need to rename it to the directory it will be in. since you are importing from your drive its impossible to go around that since you can place models in 3ddata/macaroni/pictures and it will work just fine.
Other from that keep in mind that this is still a beta, it has been tested but it still may have bugs. but as you can see in the screen shot it works fine.
