ok so by picture what does what:

1)Open ZSC File

2)Save ZSC in a different file name

3)Save ZSC

4)Entry Section
A) Displays number of your entry and total amount of entries
B) Arrow buttons are used to jump between entries
C) Clear button clears out the entry
D) Jump to button jumps to entry

5) Copy button
A) Copies the entry you want to your current entry, if you are editing entry 999 and want it have info from item 12 you enter 12 and press copy.

6)ZMS Selection
A)Selects model for your current entry
B) Add, remove and delete buttons are used for editing the list, if you add a new ZSC make sure you rename it properly, view at other items in list for reference.
C) Dont delete random things lol

7)ZMS settings
A) Base position - For weapons and items its usually all 0, it defines the base position on the character in items case.
B) Scale is scale, keep at 1
C) Rotation of model
D) Bounding box is set as an invisible box around your object for collision checking.

8)Additional flags
A)Can have several meanings different for each object type, refer to similar items for reference

9)Multiply Meshes and attachment point
A)Some objects have more one mesh, for example dual swords.
B) You set separate info for each mesh, just it makes the 2 or more meshes belong to one entry in stb
C) Attachment point is used to show where you are attaching the item, for duals lets say one mesh will go to one hand, the other to the second hand.

10) DDS Selection list
A) Same options as step 6 of the tutorial just is used to select texture

11)Texture settings
A)These settings edit your textures appearance in game, you can make it shine, glow, be transparent, alpha and so on.
B)Refer to other entries if ur not sure what ur setting

12)EFT Selection List
A)Same Rules as tutorial step 6 and 10
B)Not used with player items

13)Settings for your effects
A)These contain settings you will need for gem shine and similar, refer to other entries
B)Flag Position will define where your gem shine or other effect will appear
C)Flag Scale and rotation defines size and rotation obviously lol
D)0x07 flag can have various meanings, refer to other entries.

That covers explanation of what does what. Editing is really not that hard, if you are unsure about settings at first when you add a new item and are just starting with this use the copy button from a similar entry, then select your zms and dds file and test it, if it glitches a bit try to experiment with the settings slightly till you get it, it needs a bit of time to get used to but it really isn't that hard.

Also FIRST select your entry then start editing the settings, otherwise you will make settings for entry 0.

Keep in mind that the editor auto saves your editing but you still need to push the save button.

Also make sure your ZSC entry and your STB entry match, if they don't the item is not going to work. Also after ur done editing update your server files or the item will disappear after reloging

Thats that, if there are any questions that i haven't covered here i will answer them, if you are going to ask what i already covered, then don't bother, read again and try your self, learn to experiment a bit people, you wont get food chewed and served for you each time, learn to make it, the editor is simplified as much as it is technically possible, just be patient and try to learn.

Also backup your files when you just start out. Its not hard to make your files into shit if you do wrong editing lol

Cheers

Hello, this is my first post, and i hope not the last.

Sorry about my bad english, im spanish so i try to explain the better way i can.

After do all the proces and summon the item i will apear like a white icon without name, description an nothing else. so i think my mistake was there.

Sethanye wrote:Also make sure your ZSC entry and your STB entry match, if they don't the item is not going to work.

My question its: How can I change the line in the ZSC editor?
all that i add goes to the last row, and i dont know how to add the firts line (which is the line i edit in the stb). neither konw the exact number of the last row, to change my stb.

any help?

Thank for all.

Its simple really
For weapons both zsc and stb contain 4000 entries or so. so for example if you edited line 666 for your new item in the stb, you then go to zsc, and jump to entry 666 and edit that.

As for icons, that is defined in the stb, you need to set a number in the icons linking to the itemicon dds'es.

as for descriptions you need to edit the list_weapon_s.stl and then add acording entry to the stb. its not that hard really, just look at other entries for reference

Thank i will try that.

I think that if i add a new item i need a new file in the zsc.
tomorrow i will come back to post my results.

*EDIT (for no doubleposting)*

Y try that, and i can see the objet when equiped. So i suppose it's ok.
But i still dont see the icon, name or description correctly.

i neet to put the STB in the client o only the ZMS,DDS,ZCS and STL?

*EDIT (for no tripleposting)*

Efectively i need to put the STB en the client, in order to correct display the information.

Thanks everyone.

Hello again, and sorry about the double posting, but i dont like to open a new thread.

I have a new doubt aboutthis editor.

For example, you open de list_faceitem.zsc an you see 0 of 179 rows, and if you push > it goes to the first rows. Continuing this and you go over rows 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. if you push one more time, it goes nowhere, an again it goes to row 10, again nowhere, an agais, one of the final rows.

If you type 10 a click "jump to" you don´t jump.
So... ¿what if i edit the row 10 of the stb, that is a empty one?
and... ¿if i add a new zms resource it still tell me that are 179 rows? how can i add rows?

Thanks for all.
