They aren't going to spend money to sue a small private server with some edited client. Thats highly unlikely. But they may contact your server host or ISP to terminate the service since that won't cost them a cent.

Editing the ROSENA client is illegal but not impossible. There are many tools out there that helps you with it.

Now, it all depends on you if you want to do it or not. If you have what it takes to defend your server then you can do it.. but if you don't, don't even bother.

PurpleYouko wrote:When i say decompile i mean converting the executable back into readable C code. Obviously the structures would be different than when they were written but as long as they are readable then we can figure out what the thing is doing.

Both of the decompilers i mentioned claim to be able to do this but they both fail to do the job for trose.exe :(

i've played around with several decompilers, but there's none i can find that tackle even moderately complex programs. they work great for really simple stuff, but for anything even -approaching- an MMORPG client, there's no decompiler, commercial or otherwise, that can do the job reliably. i've tried various times for various things, and never had any luck at all. there's just too many ways to interpret the assembly into C code for it to be able to comprehend, or at least that's my guess.

additionally its very unlikely that u would understand the decompiled code. the "source" executable does not contain any debug symbols so a decompiler can name functions only like

int a(int c, int d) {
return c+d;
}

for complex functions or complex programs this is still almost not understandable. better look at the asm :)

what if a fatal error happens, will it restart it?
