PY is Vetyst the owner of the DEV REV 4 code.
If so I would gladly take my server KontikiRose down as I don't want to steal code that the owner don't give permission to use. All files I opened did have the GNU license in them.

Well Hello, I can confirm the above to be an unedited version of our chat.

If you read carefully you will notice that I've never declared that i am the owner of DEVREV4 whatsoever. This was a co-op development process of merging observe's and my progress to get the osRose server compatible with later versions of Rose Online Evolution into the at at that moment files of RozeZA.

Here is a topic that i've published back in the day under a different name: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5280

As you can read there wasn't anyone at the time running versions higher than 320ish due to TRose's incompatibility with the server.

Didn't I also work on this together with you and Observer a few years back?
Eventhough, if JediOfFreeSoft got the code for his server of this forum than he is free to use it. If he got it somewhere else without your permission then I think he should ask you for permission or close his server.
The only real question here is, did he got the source from Osrose?

Anyways, Vetyst I think you're being kind of harsh, let him explain how he got it before trying to hack his server to the ground...

It is the original Evolution release here and on Ragzone. When I was ask to start a server when Alega Rose was closing I download the dev 4 code here, almost no changes with to the code I already had from back in 2012. Even in the code was changes I've made then with adding my name :JEDI to those places. The client was the Alega client I had as I was a player on that server when it was mostly down. The so called hacker GM Rose about a month after I started the server and post everything I had on DEV 4 including this server and the database online with links to download it on Facebook. I did not care as this code is freeware and anyone could download it online. I don't own this code or any server code ever. I do have Dev 2, Dev 3, Dev 4 (Evolution) and KTRose code.

Threatening users of an open source project (licensed under GPL) is in bad taste. If there's anyone still around with admin privileges then I would be in favor of removing Vetyst's rank in the forums. Since, according to the forums, Vetyst is an official member of the osROSE "team" then his contributions probably fall under the GPL license as well. In that case, his argument that others are not allowed to use his contributions are baseless. If he wants to argue that he wasn't a part of the osROSE team at the time and wants to retain license to his contributions then that's even more reason to "demote" him. Regardless it's still probably covered under GPL as a derivative work.

All-in-all this makes you look like a dick Vetyst and I am quite surprised you are willing to associate your real-life identity with such threats and actions.You should be glad Jedi decided to post here rather than deciding to dox you and send these messages to an employer of yours. I mean, each message is signed with your own face for God's sake!

I was also pretty heavily involved with the development of the later stages of RoseZA including what was to become dev rev 3 and 4.
Also if you were to run a side by side comparison of dev rev 4 against dev rev 2 and even much earlier versions going back to good old rev 80 you will find that 99% of the codebase hasn't changed at all in all those years. We still use the core code developed by Brett and a whole lot of stuff merged in from work done by ExJam

Perhaps if Danny could point out the exact part of the code that he did the work on we can remove that from the server base and rework it completely so that he should have no more reason to be upset about anything.
