Weird error in the worldserver

Postby magicrox on Fri Jul 04, 2008 7:31 pm

So....I'm getting this weird error with my worldserver. It doesn't crash, it just freezes and then I get "worldserver.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Do you want to send an error report to Windows?" That thing.....i guess it's like going non-responsive or something.....

Here's a copy of the error report if it helps:

It happens a lot during events. My team has narrowed it down to three variables.
1. A large crowd of people in one area
2. A (level 10) GM bonfire with a user's (level 1) bonfire in the same map during an event
3. The use of ressurection during an event.

We've figured out that it may have something to do with this or a combination of all three issues. However, we could be far off. We don't know, we're very desperate because we can't hold any events with the worldserver constantly freezing. It also occurs times other than events, but it's usually while I'm sleeping.

Then again, it could be an issue with my computer not being able to process data quickly enough so maybe I need to close out some programs while I run the server? I will test this by not being online during the next event.

Thanks,
~magicrox

EDIT: I have isolated the problem. Smokey the Bear is the reason my worldserver is exiting like that. He doesn't like it when you leave a bonfire on and you teleport away.

In serious terms, when you use bonfire (GM or normal) and it's still going and you teleport away from it the server crashes. I don't know about the other summons, I'll have to test them, but bonfire is definitely the reason this is happening. However, I have no way to fix it, does anyone know how possibly?
