Startup isle

Postby CG! on Tue Oct 07, 2008 4:54 pm

Prologue:
i tryed to use the search function, but whatever i try to search for, it always tells me, the string is to short or to long.
So excuse me, if i ask an already answered question.

Question:
it's been a while, i was setting up my own osiRoSE-Server (last was rev.71 i think).
Now i installed rev.81 and Arnolds 1.31 client.
But i cant leave the start island, because the fairy keep stuck on the first dialog menu.
No options to talk with her about stats and stuff or leavig the island.

i put the following stb's from the client in the servers 3ddata/stb folder:
ITEM_DROP.STB
LIST_ARMS.STB
LIST_BACK.STB
LIST_BODY.STB <-- came with the client', so i used this instead f extracting the one from the VFS
LIST_CAP.STB
LIST_FACEITEM.STB
LIST_FOOT.STB
LIST_JEMITEM.STB
LIST_JEWEL.STB
LIST_NATURAL.STB
LIST_NPC.STB
LIST_PAT.STB
LIST_PRODUCT.STB
LIST_QUEST.STB
LIST_QUESTITEM.STB
LIST_SELL.STB
LIST_SKILL.STB
LIST_STATUS.STB
LIST_SUBWPN.STB
LIST_USEITEM.STB
LIST_WEAPON.STB
LIST_ZONE.STB

thx in common.

yes pretty much. It uses almost all of the stbs now.

you also need to extract the AIP files 3ddata/AI/ and QSD files 3ddata/QUESTDATA/ from your VFS
There are two folders in the server that mirror the VFS structure. You have to copy all the extracted files into them.

Meh. just grab a VFS extractor from the tools section. there are loads of them in there.

This one has an "extract all" option I think. http://forum.dev-osrose.com/download/file.php?id=352
It takes quite a while to do it though. About 10 to 15 minutes normally.

Thx. Got version 0.5.1 of this editor too and this newer version doesnt have "extract all" fully implemented.
Tryed to compile VFSEditor V0.1 that was basicly made for jRoSE 189 and couldn't get it to work because it can't find the data.idx (at least i think it's that one).

But hey, this one works and already makes my life way easier.
Great work from the osRoSE dev-team.
The new server rev makes modding easier.

So thanks to you for the help and to the osRoSE dev team for their great work.
