112 client is pissing me off

112 client is pissing me off

I am getting so tired of this damn 112 client. :evil:
Nothing seems to be working properly in it.

here is a rundown of stuff it won't do. (so far)
1) Can't send HP packets to keep client and server synchronised.
2) Healing skills don't work. When you cast heal, it does virtually nothing other than make a nice bright pillar of light over the target. I thought these skills were working once but maybe I was mistaken. They sure don't work now. I will keep looking into this for a bit longer before giving up though.
OK scratch that. i figured out the problem here. I kind of messed something up. Healing does work at client side.
3) Bonfire healing skill doesn't work. It does absolutely nothing.
4) Castle gears won't target anything.
5) Move speed is calculated all wrong at client end When you use a speed buff then change maps, the client gives you an extra 50% speed for about 30 seconds, causing all kinds of messed up crap to happen. Server side this is working fine.

The 112 client is simply not getting the job done. I see why they ditched it so quickly now

I'm starting to wonder if we might be better off to use an evo client and just make the GUI and game play work like pre-evo.
An irose client would also be possible but we would have to deal with the DEX = Movespeed thing and a few others.
I also prefer the evo style quest GUI that you get with the evo client.

if you use an evo client, are the formulas clientside all the same?

No they wouldn't be.
If we were to use an evo client then we would need to use code from osrose as a base.
Need to lookup information on NARose items, skills, quests?

Possibly the client might be superior but the problem is that if we use that client then I can't dev for the project. There is no way i can set up a test server in my office for any client that requires game guard. I am totally locked out of the hosts file that needs to be modified to redirect GG to a local server.

Also it would require ALL our players to have their own GG server.

At least with an evo client, we can use the GG less version that I used to use on my evo server.

OK I managed to get bonfires to do their healing thing but it completely unsynchronizes the player's HP from server to client side.
After one battle where I had a bonfire, my HP was more than 1000 points wrong at the end of it.

For the love of god do not change the codebase from OSiRose to OSRose >.<
My favorite skill is scaring new users away.

I have no idea what to do right now.

I'm still working on the healing stuff and i think I have it somewhere near right now.

Damn I wish there was some way to just send an HP packet from the server to the client and have it resync.
The only way i know though is the packet when you change maps or teleport. That would work nicely if we could do it without the big glowy thing.
